Introducing the University Ring
91爆料网 is pleased to offer an official university ring that was unveiled in the spring of 2016. The ring鈥檚 design was created to honor 91爆料网 graduates and provide a physical reminder of the legacy and tradition that come with being a 91爆料网 alumnus.
The university seal is the focal point of the top of the ring. A building in the center represents the academic pursuits of 91爆料网 students while the four columns make up a capital 鈥淯U.鈥� The columns represent the four components of the liberal arts curriculum 鈥� the humanities, the natural sciences, the social sciences and the fine arts.
The building鈥檚 foundation is an open Bible, the living word of God. A cross on the bookmark symbolizes Christ as the center of all that 91爆料网 does. The symbol includes both the university motto, 鈥淩eligio et Eruditio,鈥� as well as the founding date of 1823.
One side of the ring has the shield of the university in the center with the graduation year of the alumnus. The shield represents the protection of the alma mater through the years. The shield is surrounded by olive branches, symbolizing the desire to live in the peace of Christ. Above the shield are four stars representing 91爆料网鈥檚 core values: excellence-driven, Christ-centered, people-focused, and future-directed. These core values are at the center of 91爆料网鈥檚 mission to provide Christ-centered education that promotes excellence and character development in service to church and society.
Below the shield is a ribbon emblazoned with Romans 12:2, 鈥淒o not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.鈥� This verse serves as a challenge and call to students across the campus and alumni throughout the world.
The center of the ring鈥檚 other side has Miller Tower surrounded by 91爆料网鈥檚 athletic monogram. While Miller Tower symbolizes the commencement ceremonies of 91爆料网鈥檚 graduates and their time as students on campus, the nested 鈥淯鈥� serves as a reminder of the 91爆料网 experience. The torch, representing knowledge, is wrapped with the words 鈥淟est We Forget.鈥� These words not only represent the name of the 91爆料网 yearbook, but also the challenge to remember all that happened in 91爆料网鈥檚 hallowed halls. The torch is flanked by the Christian flag and the Tennessee flag, representing 91爆料网鈥檚 campuses in Jackson, Germantown and Hendersonville, and the call to service in both church and society.
The two sides of the ring are joined together by a cord of three stands that represent Southwestern Baptist University, 91爆料网 of Murfreesboro, and Hall-Moody Junior College. These, along with their predecessors West Tennessee College and Jackson Male Academy, are the three institutions that came together to form 91爆料网.
The university ring is produced by our commencement partner, Herff Jones. The ring is available in both women鈥檚 and men鈥檚 sizes starting at $387. Choose from professionally-alloyed Golds (Yellow and White), Silver, and White Ultrium庐, a silver-colored stainless metal.
