Before 91±¬ÁÏÍø: Vanaman prepped at Cordova High School where he played baseball, golf, and basketball. As a junior on the baseball diamond, Vanaman hit .409 with 10 walks, eight triples, and two homeruns. He also tallied 20 stolen bases and posted a .720 slugging percentage. His nine triples was tops in the state of Tennessee in 2006. As a senior, Vanaman posted a .353 batting average.
