The 91±¬ÁÏÍø Lady Bulldog softball team lost two games in the opening day of the 91±¬ÁÏÍø Classic. No. 7 91±¬ÁÏÍø lost first to No. 11 Thomas University (Ga.) 4-2 and then followed that with a loss to No. 34 Mid-Continent College 5-4 in eight innings. 91±¬ÁÏÍø in now 14-4 on the season. In the earlier games, No. 34 Mid-Continent defeated No.21 Athens State University 3-1 and Thomas defeated Athens State 3-0.
In 91±¬ÁÏÍø's first game, the Lady Bulldogs fell behing 1-0 in the top of the fourth inning. However, with back-to-back RBI hits by Amy Mejia and Christina Johnson, 91±¬ÁÏÍø scored twice in the bottom of the fifth to regain the lead. Thomas added two runs in the top of the sixth to get the win between two Top-15 teams. 91±¬ÁÏÍø's Leah Gronberg took her second loss of the season to fall to 7-2 overall. Marianger Bogado, a former member of the Valenzuala National Team, eaned with win for Thomas with 12 strikeouts in seven innings.
Game two saw 91±¬ÁÏÍø jump out to a 2-0 in the second inning. Mid-Continent, a team 91±¬ÁÏÍø has defeated twice this season, came storming back with a run in the fourth and three more in the fifth. 91±¬ÁÏÍø answer on RBI's by Jessica Kee and Crystal Surgalski tied the game at 4-4. In the eighth inning, Mid-Continent scored their fifth and final run of the game on a wild pitch by Kosco. 91±¬ÁÏÍø had runners on second and third with one out in the bottom of the eighth but failed to score. Kosco to the loss to fall to 7-2 overall. Mid-Continent's Holly Shook earned the win.
