The No. 2 ranked Lady Bulldogs of 91±¬ÁÏÍø defeated the Lambuth University Lady Eagles 82-66. 91±¬ÁÏÍø improves to 25-2 on the season while Lambuth falls to 9-17 overall.
This game proved to be a game of streaks for each team. Lambuth jumped out early with an 8-2 lead, but four three pointers by 91±¬ÁÏÍø over the next few minutes helped the Lady Bulldogs regain the lead 13-12. 91±¬ÁÏÍø then jumped out by as many as 14 points in the first half. Lambuth cut the lead to just one points before 91±¬ÁÏÍø jumped back out to a 12-point halftime lead, 44-32. In the second half, 91±¬ÁÏÍø scored first to build a 14-point lead. Lambuth then began to cut into the lead and with seven minutes to go in the game, Lambuth trailed just 53-52. That would be as close as Lambuth would get as 91±¬ÁÏÍø opened up a 29-14 run to end the game.
91±¬ÁÏÍø was outshot in the game percentage wise as they made only 35% of their 71 shots including 32% (10-31) from behind the arc. While, in a losing effort, Lambuth shot 47% (26-55) from the field and 63% (5-8) from the three point line. 91±¬ÁÏÍø fired up 71 total shots in comparison to Lambuth's 55. 91±¬ÁÏÍø forced 21 Lady Eagle turnovers and scored 22 points from those. 91±¬ÁÏÍø outrebounded Lambuth 48-36 including 27 to 10 on the offensive boards.
91±¬ÁÏÍø was led by Jessica Henson with 21 points, 14 of which came in the first half. She made 5-of-17 three pointers on the night. Tashekia Brown tallied a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Christal Merriweather also recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Merriweather made 2-of-5 three pointers. Lambuth was paced with Keisha Perry with 19 points on 5-of-7 shooting from behind the arc. Tiereney Springfield and Tia Cawthon added 17 and 13 points respectively. Cawthon completed her double-double by grabbing 11 rebounds.
