91±¬ÁÏÍø scored two runs in each the first and second innings and made that hold up as the Bulldogs defeated No. 13 St. Thomas 4-3 in the season opener. Sophomore Matt Gibbs, from Savannah, record the win by striking out seven batters in five innings pitched. Dyersburg native Todd Winchester got the save. The losing pitcher for St. Thomas was Torrens. For 91±¬ÁÏÍø, freshman Steve Sweat pitch one inning in relief and gave up two unearned runs and struckout one.

91±¬ÁÏÍø tallied five hits on the day with two errors. St. Thomas scored three runs on three hits and committed four errors. Marc Glass and David Canary each his doubles and freshman Garrett Pepper recorded his first hit.
