The 91±¬ÁÏÍø Bulldogs won their opening game of the Casey Jones Village Classic by defeating Brewton-Parker College 3-1. 91±¬ÁÏÍø improves to 2-1-1 on the season. In the early game, Lambuth defeated Fisk University 15-1.
91±¬ÁÏÍø fell behind early on a Brewton-Parker goal in the 25 minutes into the game and that scored held for the remainder of the first half. Just minutes into the second half, 91±¬ÁÏÍø scored twice to take the lead. Last week's NCCAA Player of the Week, Alexandre Pereira, scored on a Marko Pavlovic assist to tie the game. Minutes later, Clovis Simas scored on a Kekec Zivkovic assist to give 91±¬ÁÏÍø a lead that they wouldn't give up. With 20 minutes left to play, 91±¬ÁÏÍø added their third and final goal when Pereira scored his second goal of the day on a penalty kick. Zivkovic recorded his second assist of the night.
91±¬ÁÏÍø's Robert Stinson, a native of Dickson, Tennessee, recorded five saves against 10 Brewton-Parker shots. 91±¬ÁÏÍø outshot Brewton-Parker 12-10 on the night.
The Bulldogs will play against on Saturday in the final day of the Casey Jones Classic at 5 p.m. versus Fisk University. Lambuth will play Brewton-Parker at 7:30 p.m.
