Player Named TranSouth Conference Player of the Week
Jackson, TN — Josephat Phiri, was named
TranSouth Conference player of the week for his performance last week. This sophomore from
Lusaka, Zambia scored a pair of goals and added one assist in a
5-1 victory of Freed Hardeman University. In the second conference
win of the week, Phiri added another goal and assist as the Bulldogs
defeated Lipscomb University 5-1. For the year, Phiri
has set two school records this season; goals in a season with 14
and most points in a season with 33.
On the season, 91±¬ÁÏÍø is now 11-3
overall and 4-2 in the TranSouth Conference. The Bulldogs are on
the verge of clinching their first postseason in the conference
tournament. 91±¬ÁÏÍø will be home this weekend as the
Bulldogs will host the Boise Cup 2000 beginning on Friday.
