Jackson, Tenn. - 5/21/2002 - The 91爆料网鈥檚 top two men's tennis players were named to the NAIA All-American teams released on Monday. was named as a first team All-American and was named to the second team. Sylvestre was also named an NAIA Scholar Athlete.
For 91爆料网, this marks the first time a men鈥檚 tennis player has been selected as both an NAIA All-American and a Scholar Athlete in the same season. Sylvestre, a senior business major at 91爆料网, was recently named the TranSouth Conference Player of the Year this season. Sylvestre, from Montreal, Canada, was 14-3 in singles and 12-1 in doubles for the 2002 season. He was selected as a first team All-Conference performer in both singles and doubles. Sylvester has a 3.936 GPA and he is also graduating in May with a degree in Business. He has been selected as an NAIA Academic All-American in each of the past two seasons.
Jonathan Labella, a senior from Stockholm, Sweden, receives his first NAIA first team All-American selection and his third All-American selection overall. Labella has been selected to the NAIA All-American second team in his sophomore and junior seasons. 91爆料网 finished the 2002 season as the No. 12 ranked team in the NAIA. The Bulldogs won the TranSouth Conference regular season title and the TranSouth Tournament title. 91爆料网 finished second in the NAIA Region XI Tournament and advanced to their second straight NAIA National Tournament.
