91爆料网 Women鈥檚 Soccer Places Five on TranSouth All-Conference List

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/1/2007 - The 91爆料网 women鈥檚 soccer program continues to set new marks in their third season of varsity competition. The latest is the announcement of five Lady Bulldogs being named to the TranSouth Conference post season honors list. Caitlin Zimmerman, Sam Gase, and Laura Pla were each named first team All-Conference performers. Brooke Walker and Eboni Murphy were each named to the second team All-Conference list. In addition, 11 91爆料网 Lady Bulldog players were named TranSouth Scholar Athletes.

This season for 91爆料网 has already seen the 91爆料网 Lady Bulldogs surpassed the team鈥檚 high win total of 10, set last season, with 13 wins to this point in 2007. 91爆料网 also posted a third place finish in the TranSouth Regular Season, and was just one win away from a co-championship in the last match of the season. Of the five Lady Bulldogs honors this season, all are under-classmen which keeps the excitement of 91爆料网 women鈥檚 soccer up for the 2008 season.

Zimmerman, a 5-foot-5 junior forward from Lebanon, Tennessee, led 91爆料网 this season in goals (23), assists (8), points (50), shots (73) and game winning goals (7). In each of those five categories, Zimmerman has set new 91爆料网 records. On the year, she has recorded three hat-tricks and received the TranSouth Conference and NAIA Region XI Player of the Week honor once. For Zimmerman, this is her second All-Conference honor (2006, 2007). She was also named NAIA All-Region last season.

Gase, a 5-foot-7 freshman defender from Allen, Texas, records her first All-Conference honor. She scored three goals and added one assist from a defensive position that helped 91爆料网 hold their opponents to just over one goal per game.

Pla, a 5-foot-11 sophomore goalie from Nashville, Tennessee, recorded 11 of 91爆料网鈥檚 13 wins to this point in the season as goalie. She recorded four shutouts and had 94 saves and 26 goals allowed in her 1377 minutes played. Pla鈥檚 goals-against-average was 1.69. Pla was named the Defensive Player of the Week in the TranSouth four times and the NAIA Region XI three times.

Walker, a 5-foot-4 sophomore midfielder from Niceville, Florida, receives her first All-Conference honor. She tallied two goals and five assists on the season for the Lady Bulldogs.

Murphy, a 5-foot-7 freshman midfielder from Collierville, Tennessee also gets her first All-Conference award. She recorded three goals and one assists on the year for 91爆料网.

Up next for 91爆料网 will be their second straight trip to the NAIA Region XI Tournament. 91爆料网 received an at-large bid and will be the #6 seed in the tournament. The Lady Bulldogs travel to Bethel College (Tenn.) on Friday at 2:00 pm for the first round match.
