No. 1 91±¬ÁÏÍø Rallies for 68-67 Win

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/30/2007 - The 91±¬ÁÏÍø Lady Bulldogs, ranked No. 1 in the NAIA polls, improved to 9-0 on the season with a 68-67 win over Rocky Mountain College (Mont.). The come-from-behind win came in the Westminster College Classic in Salt Lake City, Utah.

91±¬ÁÏÍø trailed by seven points, 36-29 at the half. The Lady Bulldogs rallied to tie the game quickly in the second half, but Rocky Mountain pulled back ahead. 91±¬ÁÏÍø didn't take their first lead until under two minutes remaining, 64-63. 91±¬ÁÏÍø's biggest lead of the game was 66-63 in the final minute. Rocky Mountain scored a basket to cut the 91±¬ÁÏÍø lead to 66-65. After a missed free throw by 91±¬ÁÏÍø, Rocky Mountain had the ball and drew a 91±¬ÁÏÍø foul with 11 seconds left. After two missed free throws by Rocky Mountain, a rebounding foul was called on 91±¬ÁÏÍø, which gave Rocky Mountain two more free throws. This time they hit both, to retake the lead over 91±¬ÁÏÍø 67-66 with nine seconds remaining. 91±¬ÁÏÍø got the ball inbounded and with one second left to play, 91±¬ÁÏÍø's Merideth Richardson Jacobs was fouled on the shot. The junior from Bradford sank both free throws to help 91±¬ÁÏÍø survive the upset bid by Rocky Mountain.

91±¬ÁÏÍø was led by Josephine Owino with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Kaitlin Dudley added 15 points for the Lady Bulldogs.

91±¬ÁÏÍø will play again on Saturday at 5:00 pm (CST) versus the host No. 24 Westminster College (Utah).
