JACKSON, Tenn. - 12/3/2007 - A record-setting season for the 91爆料网 women鈥檚 soccer program has been capped off by three players being recognized by the NAIA. Caitlin Zimmerman was named an NAIA honorable mentioned All-American for the first time, NAIA All-Region XI for the second time, and was selected as an NAIA Scholar Athlete. Sam Gase was named NAIA All-Region XI, while Emily Rawls was named an NAIA Scholar Athlete.
Zimmerman, a 5-foot-5 junior forward from Lebanon, Tennessee, led 91爆料网 this season in goals (21), assists (9), points (51), shots (76) and game winning goals (7). In each of those five categories, Zimmerman has set new 91爆料网 records. On the year, she recorded three hat-tricks and received the TranSouth Conference and NAIA Region XI Player of the Week honor once. Zimmerman was also named first team All-Conference.
Gase, a 5-foot-7 freshman defender from Allen, Texas, records her first All-Conference honor. She scored three goals and added one assist from a defensive position that helped 91爆料网 hold their opponents to just over one goal per game. Gase was also named a TranSouth All-Conference performer.
Rawls, a 5-foot-4 junior defender form Cordova, Tennessee, played in all 19 of 91爆料网鈥檚 matches on the season. She started 18 times and was one of 91爆料网鈥檚 top defenders.
This season for 91爆料网 saw the 91爆料网 Lady Bulldogs surpass the team-high in wins with 13. 91爆料网 also posted a third place finish in the TranSouth Regular Season, and was just one win away from a co-championship in the last match of the season. The Lady Bulldogs advanced to the NAIA Region XI Tournament for the second time in the three-year history of the program.
