Lauren Hayden received her second TranSouth Player of the Week honor this season, along with being named the NCCAA Player of the Week. Hayden, a senior from Belleville, and the Lady Bulldogs have opened the season with a 12-0 start, 3-0 mark in the conference.
Hayden, a 5-11 outside hitter, recorded 54 kills in 8 games this week (6.75 average) to help lead 91±¬ÁÏÍø past conference opponents Freed-Hardeman and Martin Methodist. Hayden ranks first in the conference in defense with 5.43 digs per game, second in kills with 6.06 per game, and third with a .336 attack percentage.
The Lady Bulldogs will be at home for three games this week as they attempt to improve on their perfect record. 91±¬ÁÏÍø will begin the week on Tuesday night as they host Bethel College at 7:00 p.m. Thursday and Saturday will prove to be tough conference matches for the Lady Bulldogs as Martin Methodist College travels to 91±¬ÁÏÍø at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday night and Lee University comes calling Saturday at 12:00 noon.
