JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/14/2008 - The 91爆料网 men鈥檚 basketball team dropped their third straight game with a 90-69 loss at No. 7 Lambuth University on Thursday night. 91爆料网 is now 13-11 on the season and 7-7 in the TranSouth. Lambuth improved to 22-3 overall and 14-2 in conference play.
91爆料网 dropped the earlier meeting this season at home to Lambuth, 83-67.
The first half was paced by 91爆料网 with the Bulldogs leading for the majority of the first 20 minutes. The game was tied at 40-40 when Lambuth drained two three points to jump out to a 46-40 halftime lead.
The second half was dominated by the Eagles. 91爆料网 managed on 29 second half points as Lambuth cruised to the 21-point win, 90-69.
The NAIA鈥檚 second leading scorer, 91爆料网鈥檚 Matt Neaville, posted his 91爆料网 career low with just two points and no field-goals. This marked the first time all season that he has failed to reach double figures in scoring. It also marked the first time he failed to make a three-pointer. He leads the nation in three pointers made per game with five.
As a team, 91爆料网 posted good percentages from the field, but the 24 turnovers leading to 18 Lambuth points greatly contributed to the loss.
91爆料网 was led by Brian Lake with 19 points. Tony Brown added 14 points, 12 of which came in the first half. 91爆料网 shot 44-percent from the field, 41-percent (7-17) from three-point range, and 58-percent (14-24) from the free throw line.
Lambuth was led by Corey Webster with 21 points. Jeremy Weddle added 19 points, Trey Pearson scored 15 points, and Antawn Coby posted 13 points. Lambuth shot 49-percent from the field, 38-percent (11-29), and 70-percent (7-10) from the free throw line.
Up next for 91爆料网 will be a trip to Pulaski, Tennessee to play Martin Methodist College on Saturday, February 16. The men will play at 4:00 pm, preceded by the women鈥檚 game at 2:00 pm.
