NASHVILLE, Tenn. - 3/3/2008 - The TranSouth Athletic Conference released the 2007-2008 women鈥檚 basketball all-conference team and postseason awards. 91爆料网 managed to come away from the regular season with all four of the top awards. Josephine Owino was named Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year was earned by Kayla Hudson. Hudson was also awarded Newcomer of the Year and Mark Campbell earned Coach of the Year honors. 91爆料网's Crystal Eason was named to the second team All-Conference while Eason, Laura Crittendon, and Lindsey Flynn were named TranSouth Scholar Athletes.
, a 6-foot-4 junior from Mombasa, Kenya, was named Transouth鈥檚 Player of the Week four times this season. Averaging 18.9 points a game with a season total of 531 points, Owino鈥檚 career has taken off. While she shoots an impressive 66.1% from the field, she rounds out her statistics with with a 6.7 rebound average and a 61.8% free throw rate. Owino also has pulled in some high NAIA ranks, including No. 1 in field goal percentage, No. 5 in blocks per game (2.185) and No. 11 in points per game.
, a 5-foot-6 freshman guard from Gleason, Tenn., has made an impact her freshman year. She scored an average of 10.8 points per game and is off to a great start with an overall season total of 302 points. Hudson ended the season with a 50.5% three-point total and an 85.6% free throw total. She leads the NAIA in assist/turnover ratio (4.69) and is ranked No.2 in assists per game (7.48).
, a 5-foo-8 senior from Scotts Hill, Tenn., averaged 11.8 points per game on the season. She sank 50-of-129 (.388) three pointers on the season.
closed out this season with a perfect 29-0 season, leading his team to clinch the regular season title once again. This is his fourth coach award, having won it last year, then 2001 and 2002.
