JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/6/2008 - The Bulldogs of 91±¬ÁÏÍø fell to Cumberland University (Tenn.) 73-70 in their first game of the TranSouth Conference Tournament. With the loss, the Bulldogs are now 18-13, 12-8 in conference play. Cumberland is now 21-10 and 13-7 in the conference.
91±¬ÁÏÍø led by as many as 11 points in the first half on 37-percent shooting from behind the arc. Cumberland, however, never let the Bulldogs pull away and 91±¬ÁÏÍø took only a four-point lead into the half, 38-34.
The Bulldogs played a close game with Cumberland, as the lead changed hands numerous times throughout the second half. 91±¬ÁÏ꿉۪s final attempt to score fell short and Cumberland edged out a 73-70 victory over the Bulldogs.
91±¬ÁÏÍø was led on the night by Matt Neaville with 22 points including 6-of-14 shooting from behind the arc. Tony Brown added 15 points for the Bulldogs. Brian Lake posted his fourteenth double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Tacuma Alexander scored 10.
Cumberland was led by DeCorey Young with 21 points. Thomas Douglas added 18 points and Rontreal Braxton scored 12.
