91±¬ÁÏÍø men's soccer rallies to defeat Freed-Hardeman 2-1

JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/23/2008 - The 91±¬ÁÏÍø men's soccer team trailed for just 30 seconds in their conference match versus Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University, before rallying for a 2-1 victory. 91±¬ÁÏÍø improved to 4-3-1 on the season and 2-0 in league play. The Lions of Freed-Hardeman dropped to 4-5 overall and 0-2 in the TranSouth.

The Lions opened the scoring with a goal from Travis Shivers in the seventh minute of play. However, just 30 seconds later, 91±¬ÁÏÍø's Paul Turner tied the game at 1-1. The score remained knotted at halftime.

91±¬ÁÏÍø stuck with a quick goal, just one minute into second half play to go up 2-1. That goal from Wagner Oliveira proved to be the game winner as 91±¬ÁÏÍø held on for the conference win.

James Landham recorded two saves for 91±¬ÁÏÍø, while Alexandre Girodo saved 12 shots for the Lions. 91±¬ÁÏÍø out shot Freed-Hardeman 27-6 in the game, including 15-4 in the shots-on-goal category.

Up next for 91±¬ÁÏÍø will be a home conference match on Saturday, September 27 at 4:00 pm versus Mid-Continent (Ky.) University.
