JACKSON, Tenn. - 1/6/2009 - Both of 91±¬ÁÏÍø's basketball teams remained in the top 5 of their respective NAIA rankings for the second consecutive poll. The women still hold on to the No. 1 spot, while the men move to No. 5, tied with Westminster (Utah) College.
The Lady Bulldogs split their games since the last poll, going 1-1, with a loss at current No. 6 Lee (Tenn.) University and a win at current No. 10 Lambuth (Tenn.) University. The Lady Bulldogs currently stand at 14-1 overall and 2-0 in the TranSouth Conference.
Since the last NAIA poll, the men have posted a 3-1 record with a loss a current No. 8 Georgetown (Ky.) College. After that, the Bulldogs won three straight to move to 11-3 overall, and 2-0 in the conference play.
Up next for the men and the women will be conference opponent Cumberland (Tenn.) University. The women's game will tip off at 6 pm, with the men's game to follow at 8 pm. These games will be the first home games played on the newly-painted David Blackstock Court at Fred DeLay Gymnasium.
