No. 10 91±¬ÁÏÍø rolls in road win at Mid-Continent

MAYFIELD, Ky - 1/24/2009 - The 91±¬ÁÏÍø Bulldogs, ranked No. 10 in the latest NAIA poll, had little trouble in their 99-66 road win over Mid-Continent (Ky.) University. The Bulldogs kept pace in the TranSouth as one of three teams with just one loss in league play.

91±¬ÁÏÍø (16-4, 6-1) scored the first eight points of the game, leading 8-0 after just over a minute of play. Mid-Continent then scored six straight points to cut the lead down to 8-6. However, it was 91±¬ÁÏÍø that took control of the game from that point. 91±¬ÁÏÍø rolled off a 29-6 run to take a 25-point lead, 37-12, with 5:50 left in the half. 91±¬ÁÏÍø eventually led by as many as 26 points (46-20) in the first half, before settling for the 46-22 halftime lead.

In the second half, Mid-Continent attempted a rally as they pulled to within 17 points, 53-36, by scoring 12 of the half's first 19 points. But 91±¬ÁÏÍø was just too strong on this day. 91±¬ÁÏÍø stretched their biggest lead to 39 points, 93-54, with 2:52 left to play. 91±¬ÁÏÍø coasted to win 99-66.

Eleven of 91±¬ÁÏÍø's 12 players scored in the game, including five players in double figures. Brian Lake led all scores with 16 points, including 4-of-7 three pointers. Tacuma Alexander also shot well from behind the arc, going 4-of-5, to aid in his 15 points. Matt Neaville, scored 11 points. Two 91±¬ÁÏÍø players posted double-doubles including Greg Truvillion with 14 points and 17 rebounds and Keith Tolliver with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

91±¬ÁÏÍø shot 50-percent from the field, 46-percent (13-28) from behind the arc, and 64-percent (18-28) from the free throw line.

Mid-Continent was led by Aaron Pearson with 13 points and Donovan Willis with 10 points. The Cougars shot 33-percent from the field, 23-percent (6-26) from three point range, and 67-percent (8-12).

Up next for 91±¬ÁÏÍø will be their second of five straight road games. 91±¬ÁÏÍø travels to Bethel (Tenn.) College on Thursday, January 29 for an 8:00 pm contest.
