JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/18/2009 - The 91爆料网 Lady Bulldog basketball team will join efforts with hundreds of women鈥檚 college basketball teams across the country this week by promoting breast cancer awareness. 91爆料网鈥檚 night will be Thursday, February 19 when the No. 1 ranked Lady Bulldogs play host to Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College at 6:00 pm at 91爆料网鈥檚 Fred DeLay Gymnasium.
The Women鈥檚 Basketball Coaches Association () has organized Pink Zone, which allows teams to jointly promote, raise money, and help bring awareness to cancer.
Mark Campbell, head coach of the 91爆料网 Lady Bulldogs says, 鈥淎nytime we can use our talents to glorify God, show our love for others, and help meet needs, we should always invest our time and efforts. This is a great cause and our team is proud to be able to contribute.鈥
Several other 91爆料网 sports teams have participated in similar events over the past years. Also, for the third year in a row, 91爆料网 and the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx are teaming for Breast Cancer Pink Jersey Auction on May 9, 2009.
Over the past seasons, 91爆料网 has raised several thousand dollars in their different cancer awareness events across all sports. Money raised during these events is applied to the 91爆料网 Relay for Life team鈥檚 contribution to the American Cancer Society.
