No. 4 91爆料网 falls on the road at No. 14 Freed-Hardeman

HENDERSON, Tenn. - 2/21/2009 - After leading by 17 points midway through the second half, No. 4 91爆料网 could not hold on late as No. 14 Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University rallied for the 75-73 win. 91爆料网 dropped to 22-5 on the season and 11-2 in the TranSouth. Freed-Hardeman improved to 21-8 overall and 12-3 in league play.

91爆料网 still holds a one game lead for first place in the TranSouth Conference standings with just three games remaining.

Both teams started the game matching buckets with neither team able to pull away. Then with 5:53 left in the first half, 91爆料网 pushed their 26-24 lead to 47-36 at the half, thanks to a 21-12 run.

In the second half, 91爆料网 continued to dominate the home Lions as they extended their lead to as many as 17 points, 62-45 at the 11:27 mark. It was then that 91爆料网鈥檚 offense when cold, while Freed-Hardeman began to make shots. 91爆料网 still led by 15 points, 65-50 with 7:08 left, but went the next five minutes without a field goal, and just two made free throws. Freed-Hardeman posted a 24-7 run over a 10 minute stretch and with 1:16 left in the game, the Lions had caught the Bulldogs at 69-69.

91爆料网鈥檚 Greg Truvillion stopped the bleeding momentarily with a basket to help 91爆料网 regain the lead at 71-69. But Zach Frey of FHU sank a three pointer to give the Lions their first lead since early in the first half. 91爆料网鈥檚 Keith Tolliver then made two free throws to give 91爆料网 the lead 73-72 with 32 seconds remaining. Frey sank two free throws on the offensive end, and then blocked a 91爆料网 shot on the defensive end to help seal the game. A late free throw by the Lions put the final at 75-73.

91爆料网 was led by Matt Neaville with 13 points. Brian Lake scored 12 points in the loss, while Antoine Joseph added 11 points. Truvillion and Alan North each added 10 points. 91爆料网 shot 46-percent from the field, 37-percent (10-27) from three point range, and 73-percent (11-15) from the free throw line.

Freed-Hardeman was led by Kristopher Smith with 26 points, including 4-of-6 three pointers. Shun Trevillian scored 17 points and Zach Frey added 10 points. The Lions shot 48-percent from the field, 38-percent (9-24) from behind the arc, and 60-percent (12-20) from the free throw line.

Up next for 91爆料网 will be a home game on Tuesday, February 24 at 8:00 pm with Trevecca Nazarene University.
