91爆料网鈥檚 Owino passes 2,000 career points, just 79 boards away from 1,000

JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/25/2009 - 91爆料网鈥檚 has reached a mark that not many players ever see. Owino passed the 2,000 career point mark in her team鈥檚 88-70 win on Tuesday night. Owino now sits at 2,015 points for her career at 91爆料网.

In addition to her 2,000 career points, Owino is just 79 rebounds shy of 1,000 boards for her career with 921 after Tuesday鈥檚 game.

In the win Tuesday night over Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.), she was just one rebound shy of her career high of 19 rebounds when she grabbed 18 boards. She also scored 24 points for the second straight game, giving her seven double-doubles on the year, and pushing her well over the 2,000-point mark.

This is a great accomplishment for Josephine and our team. Nothing about her on the court can compare to the type of person Jo is off the court. I am proud of her."

Owino, a 6-foot-3 senior center for the 91爆料网 Lady Bulldog basketball team, is coming off a season in which she earned NAIA National Player of the Year. Her best season to-date was her junior year when she posted 671 points (18.7/game) and shot 69% from the field. This season is equally as impressive thus far. She is averaging 18.1 points per game and is leading the NAIA with 67% shooting from the field.

Owino has been an NAIA All-American, NAIA All-Tournament player, TranSouth Player of the Year, and was a part of 91爆料网鈥檚 2006 NAIA National Championship team. She was also a red-shirt player on 91爆料网鈥檚 2005 NAIA Title team. During Owino鈥檚 career, 91爆料网 has posted an overall record of 123-14, including 62-2 over the last two seasons. She has helped 91爆料网 to an 11-2 record in the three national tournament appearances, with the one title and two semifinal appearances during her time at 91爆料网.

Her career high of 34 points game came in a game versus Lee (Tenn.) as a junior. She posted a career-high of 19 rebounds in just her fifth career game at 91爆料网 in a win over The Master鈥檚 (Calif.).

Over the past two seasons, she has started all 64 games for 91爆料网 and has reached double figures in points in 62 of those games, scoring in all 64.
