Dudley , Hudson, and Jacobs join Owino as repeat
The 91爆料网 Lady Bulldogs once again dominate the NAIA postseason honors list as Josephine Owino was awarded her second straight NAIA Player of the Year award. In addition to Owino, 91爆料网 also boasted Kaitlin Dudley as a first team All-American, while Kayla Hudson earned second team All-American honors. Merideth Jacobs was named an NAIA All-American honorable mentioned.
Owino, a 6-foot-3 senior center from Mombasa, Kenya, receives the NAIA honor on the heels of her second TranSouth Player of the Year award. Owino will graduate 91爆料网 with over 2,100 points and 1,000 rebounds. In the national tournament second round win over Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), Owino moved into third place on 91爆料网鈥檚 all-time scoring list. Also, in the quarterfinal win over Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.), Owino passed the 1,000 rebound mark for her career. Entering the NAIA national title game, Owino sits at 2,213 points and 1,025 rebounds for her career. She leads the team with 19.1 points and 8.5 rebounds per game this season.
Dudley, a 5-foot-10 junior guard from Bradford, Tenn., is making her third appearance on the All-American team. She passed the 1,500 career point mark during the season and now sits at 1,739 points for her career. She is second on 91爆料网鈥檚 team with 16.7 points per game and 84 made three pointers. Dudley is shooting 43-percent (84-195) from the three point line entering the national title game.
Hudson, a 5-foot-6 sophomore guard from Gleason, Tenn., is making her second appearance as an All-American. She averages 9.4 points per game and seven assists per game. She has started every game for 91爆料网 since joining the team as a freshman. Hudson leads the team with 47-percent (71-150) shooting from behind the arc.
Jacobs, a 5-foot-9 senior guard from Bradford, Tenn., has been a five-year player for 91爆料网, including a medical red-shirt season following her sophomore campaign. She was a part of 91爆料网鈥檚 back-to-back NAIA National Championship team in 2005 and 2006. She has advanced to at least the semifinals of the national tournament in each of her seasons, including three title games. Earlier this season, Jacobs passed the 1,500 career points mark. She also became 91爆料网鈥檚 all-time leading three pointer shooter. Jacobs enters the title game with 383 career three pointers, which is well beyond the old record of 309. Jacobs is averaging 10.8 points per game and leads the team with 96 made three pointers (38%).
