91±¬ÁÏÍø baseball pulls away in 10th for win over CBU

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - 3/30/2009 - The 91±¬ÁÏÍø Bulldogs scored six runs in the top of the 10th inning to defeat NCAA DII Christian Brothers (Tenn.) University 16-10. 91±¬ÁÏÍø led 10-5 going into the bottom of the ninth inning, but allowed the home Bucs to score five runs to tie the game.

91±¬ÁÏÍø's David Maristany continued his hot hitting from last week as he posted a 3-for-5 day with three RBI. Corey Rudolph, after missing several games with an injury, has started to get his timing back as he posted a 3-for-5 afternoon with an RBI and two runs scored. Clint Barnes added two hits, two runs, and two RBI in the game.

91±¬ÁÏÍø trailed 2-1 going into the top of the sixth inning. In the top half of the sixth, 91±¬ÁÏÍø scored three runs to take the lead. However, three runs by Christian Brothers in the bottom half of the frame put the Bucs back on top, 5-4. 91±¬ÁÏÍø continued to score, putting up runs in the final five innings of the game. 91±¬ÁÏÍø score one in the seventh, two in the eighth, and three more in the ninth as the Bulldogs seemed to be cruising for their 19th win of the season. However, Christian Brothers tied the game with five runs in the bottom of the ninth. 91±¬ÁÏÍø's offense answered with six runs in the top of the 10th inning.

Ross Garrett earns his first collegiate win by getting the final out in the bottom of the ninth inning. Dan Beck tossed a scoreless bottom of the 10th to help preserve the 91±¬ÁÏÍø win.

Up next for 91±¬ÁÏÍø will be a double-header at Belhaven (Miss.) College in Jackson, Miss. Game time is 4:00 pm.
