Former 91±¬ÁÏÍø standout inducted into Jackson-Madison County Sports Hall of Fame

JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/17/2009 - Shea Piercey, a former 91±¬ÁÏÍø women's basketball standout, was inducted into the Jackson-Madison County Sports Hall of Fame on Thursday night. Piercey played for 91±¬ÁÏÍø in the late 1980's, helping the team to their first every NAIA National Tournament in 1988.

Piercey still holds 91±¬ÁÏÍø records for three-point percentage in a season (.443) and assists in a game (14), both occurring during the 1987-88 season. She was named the Tennessee Collegiate Athletic Conference (TCAC) 1989 player of the year.

Piercey was a three-year starter at Jackson's North Side where she named a Blue Chip Top 50 player in Tennessee her senior year. She was also named first team All-state and honorable mention All-American the same season.

"I chose 91±¬ÁÏÍø because of Coach (David) Blackstock, and I wanted to stay close to home and have family watch me play," says Piercey.
