KANSAS CITY, Mo. - 4/23/2009 - 91±¬ÁÏÍø's Matt Neaville has been named to the 2009 National Association of Basketball Coaches' All-America First Team.
, a 6-foot-0 senior guard from Urbana, Ill., was named a first team performer for his play during the 2008-09 season. Neaville averaged 18 points per game and shot 40-percent from the floor. He drained 137 three pointers, on 38-percent shooting from behind the arc. Neaville shot 82-percent from the charity stripe. In his two seasons as a Bulldog, Neaville reached the 1,000 point mark for his career in just 44 games and tallied 1,375 career points. He stands in second place for made three pointers in a career at 91±¬ÁÏÍø with 290 three pointers. He also holds the record for three pointers in a season (153) and three pointers made in a game (11) at 91±¬ÁÏÍø.
Neaville adds this honor to numerous others he received for his performance during his senior campaign. Neaville was named an NAIA first team All-American and TranSouth Conference Player of the Year. Neaville will graduate this May with a degree in Sports Management.
