91爆料网 baseball tops Crichton 8-3

JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/24/2009 - The 91爆料网 baseball team posted an 8-3 victory over Crichton (Tenn.) College on Friday night at Fesmire Field. The Bulldogs rallied from a 2-0 deficit with seven unanswered runs to pull away for the victory.

The game was scoreless, until the top of the third with Matt Gore of Crichton hit a two-run homerun with two outs and two strikes. However, the lead was short-lived as 91爆料网 pushed two runs across in the bottom half of the fame. An RBI single from Grant Luke and a sacrifice fly from David Maristany tied the game.

91爆料网 scored in three straight innings with a single runs in each the fourth and fifth innings. Alex Turner's RBI single in the fourth, and a lead-off home run by Luke in the fifth put 91爆料网 up 4-2 after five innings.

The Bulldogs extended their lead in the seventh with three more runs. Luke scored on a wild pitch, with Allen Williams and Danny Grimm adding RBI hits. Both teams tacked on a run each in the eighth inning before 91爆料网's Danny Alberty tossed a perfect top of the ninth to seal the win for te Bulldogs.

Carl Harken (7-3) started for the Bulldogs, tossing eight innings and allowing just three runs on seven hits with nine strikeouts. Chris Garrett (3-6) took the loss for Crichton.

91爆料网 was led offensively with four players posting two hits each. Grant was on base all four times at bat, going 2-for-2 with a walk and hit-by-pitch, and scoring four runs. Williams' two hits were of the extra base variety including a double and a triple. Luke and Kevin Kirksey led with two RBI each.

Up next for 91爆料网 will be a double-header on Saturday, April 25 at Crichton, starting at 2:00 p.m.
