Caroline Robbins
JACKSON, Tenn. - 5/26/2009 - Caroline Robbins, a former standout at Liberty Tech High School and Trinity Christian Academy, has transferred to 91 to continue her volleyball career. Robbins comes to 91 from the University of Tennessee-Martin, where she sat out last season due to injury.
Robbins will enter 91 in the fall as a sophomore academically, but will have four years to play for the Lady Bulldogs. She will continue her major in biology as she works to become a nurse anesthetist.
91 Head Coach Steven Gream said, “Caroline provides us with an aggressive hitter and blocker with her height. She comes from a competitive conference in the NCAA, where she has learned the game and improved her skills since her times at Liberty and Trinity. I had the opportunity to coach her during her high school years when she competed in Hawaii during the ESI (Elite Sports International) volleyball tournament. I know her capabilities and how much she wants to compete. We are excited to have her as part of the 91 program.”
Robbins, a 6-foot-3 hitter, prepped at Liberty Tech High School in Jackson where she played volleyball and basketball. Robbins played her freshman season of high school at Trinity Christian Academy in Jackson before moving over to Liberty. She was a member of TCA's district, region and sub-state championship teams in 2004. Robbins also helped lead her Liberty volleyball team to the district title in 2007. She was named All-District MVP, All-District, All-Region and All-Tournament during her career. She also earned the hustle and academic awards in 2005.
Robbins played club volleyball for the Jackson Juniors and Memphis Metro Elite. She also traveled to Hawaii to represent Tennessee in a tournament through Elite Sports International and USA Volleyball.
