Kacie Ritter
JACKSON, Tenn. - 6/12/2009 - The 91爆料网 volleyball team has added Kacie Ritter to the roster for the upcoming 2009 season. Ritter will enter 91爆料网 this fall as a junior and will major in Biology.
91爆料网 head coach Steven Gream said, 鈥淲e are excited to have Kacie as part of our volleyball program. She brings not only great skills as a defensive specialist, but also valuable experience from playing at a high level at a nationally ranked junior college. We look for her to bring that experience to our back row defense which was one of the top defensive teams in the conference last season.鈥
Ritter, a 5-foot-4 defensive specialist, is a transfer from Jefferson Community College where she played two seasons of volleyball. Her Jefferson team finished as the No. 12 ranked team in the nation, while reaching as high No. 8 during the year. Ritter was named an Academic All-American at Jefferson and posted a two-year total of 580 digs.
Ritter, a native of Cape Girardeau, Mo., prepped at Scott City High School where she played volleyball and was also a member of the cheerleading squad. She helped lead her volleyball team to conference and district titles in 2005 and 2006, and a state tournament quarterfinal appearance in 2006. Ritter was a two-time all-conference, all-district, all-region, all-region tournament and Southeast Missourian Team. She was also named all-state and Gatorade Player of the Year. Ritter earned team awards including most kills, most assists, serving award, and twice voted team MVP. Ritter earned All-American honors as a cheerleader.
Off the court, Ritter was the senior class treasure and a member of the Honor Society and Honor Roll, while also earning the U.S. Army Scholar Athlete Award. While at Jefferson, she was named on the Dean鈥檚 List all four semesters.
Ritter is the daughter of Carl and Angie Ritter of Cape Girardeau and is a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
