91爆料网 women鈥檚 soccer wins 5-2 in home opener

JACKSON, Tenn. - 8/29/2009 - The 91爆料网 women鈥檚 soccer team posted a 5-2 victory over Brewton-Parker (Ga.) College on Saturday in their home opener. 91爆料网 improved to 2-1 on the season, while Brewton-Parker dropped to 1-1.

91爆料网 scored first with a goal by Steffi King in the 10th minute of play. Nine minutes later, Brewton-Parker tied the match at 1-1 with a goal from Jalissa Johnson. 91爆料网鈥檚 Cailtin Zimmerman broke the tie for good with a goal in the 25th minute.

In the second half, 91爆料网 began to pull away late as Whitney Cramer and Candice Blackard scored goals in the 62nd and 79th minutes to put 91爆料网 up 4-1. A goal in the final 10 minutes of play from Brewton-Parker鈥檚 Jerniel Nivet and 91爆料网鈥檚 Jill Landers set the final score at 5-2.

91爆料网 received assists from Blackard, Eboni Murphy and Landers in the contest.

Katie Moser earned the win between the posts with two saves, while Mallory Lashley of Brewton-Parker recorded 14 saves in the loss.

Up next for 91爆料网 is a road game on Friday, Sept. 4 at Brenau (Ga.) University.
