91±¬ÁÏÍø men’s soccer opens 2009 season with win

JACKSON, Tenn. - 8/29/2009 - The 91±¬ÁÏÍø men’s soccer team opened the 2009 season with a 3-0 shutout over Brewton-Parker (Ga.) College on Saturday afternoon. Brewton-Parker falls to 0-2 on the young season.

91±¬ÁÏÍø wasted no time in taking the early lead with a goal from Chris Waugh, assisted by Dejan Kostic, in the seventh minute of play. The Bulldogs added a second goal in the first half when Kevin Bradley hit the back of the net in the 30th minute.

Just two minutes into the second half, 91±¬ÁÏÍø scored again, to put the lead at a comfortable margin at 3-0. Guilherme Reis’ goal was the final of the game at 91±¬ÁÏÍø completed the shutout.

J. Landham and Mike Phelan combined for the shutout, each recording one save in the match. 91±¬ÁÏÍø out shot Brewton-Parker 22-5.

Up next for 91±¬ÁÏÍø will be on Tuesday, September 1 when the Bulldogs travel to play at Milligan (Tenn.) College at 5:00 p.m.
