JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/12/2009 - The 91±¬ÁÏÍø men's soccer team lost their fifth straight match in a 3-0 loss to Reinhardt (Ga.) College. 91±¬ÁÏÍø is now 1-5 on the season, while Reinhardt improved to 2-2 overall.
In what proved to be the game-winning goal, Philip Overby of Reinhardt scored the first goal of the match in the 30th minute. That was the only goal of the first half. In the second half, an comeback hopes for 91±¬ÁÏÍø were stopped with goals from Paul Wiesboeck and Mark Withers in the 55th and 74th minutes respectively.
91±¬ÁÏÍø was out shot by Reinhardt 15-7 in the match. 91±¬ÁÏÍø's J. Landham record one save in the first half, while Mike Phelan of 91±¬ÁÏÍø recorded one save in goal in the second half. Bobby Boender of Reinhardt posted the shutout with two saves.
Up next for 91±¬ÁÏÍø will their first TranSouth match of the season when Lyon (Ark.) College come to 91±¬ÁÏÍø on Saturday, September 19 for a 6:00 p.m. match.
