91±¬ÁÏÍø volleyball rallies to defeat William Baptist 3-2

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - 9/28/2009 - After having their 15-match winning streak snapped last Thursday, 91±¬ÁÏÍø volleyball rallied to defeat Williams Baptist (Ark.) College on Monday night 3-2 (18-25, 27-29, 25-15, 25-19, 15-12). 91±¬ÁÏÍø improved to 16-1 on the season, while Williams Baptist dropped to 7-6.

Williams Baptist had upset on their minds as they jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead after two sets. Williams Baptist won the first set 25-18 and the second 29-27. 91±¬ÁÏÍø trailed 8-7 in the third set, before starting to grab some momentum. 91±¬ÁÏÍø outscored Williams Baptist 18-7 to take the third set 25-15. Set number four went 91±¬ÁÏÍø's way as well, winning 25-19. In the fifth and final set, 91±¬ÁÏÍø jumped out to a 4-1 lead and also led 10-5, before holding off a determined Williams Baptist team 15-12 for the win.

Marcela Madiera led 91±¬ÁÏÍø with 17 kills, while Heather Lieberman added 10 kills. Katie Adams led with 35 assists, Madiera added 20 digs, while Anna Sims and Caroline Robbins recorded four blocks each.

Williams Baptist was led in kills by Caitlin Wakefield with 16 total. Stephanie Reynolds and Bailey Stanley added 13 and 12 kills respectively.

91±¬ÁÏÍø will step back into TranSouth Conference play on Thursday at 91±¬ÁÏÍø when they play host to Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University at 7:00 p.m.
