91爆料网 volleyball drops second straight contest in a 3-2 loss to Cumberland

JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/7/2009 - The 91爆料网 Lady Bulldogs fell to 17-3 on Wednesday with a 3-2 (25-20, 25-23, 16-25, 20-25, 17-15). 91爆料网 dropped to 5-3 in the TranSouth, while Cumberland improved to 13-7 overall and 3-5 in league play.

Cumberland jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead, but 91爆料网 was able to respond to take an 8-7 lead. The set was back-and-forth and after the two teams were tied at 18-18, Cumberland scored seven of the next nine points to win 25-20. The second set continued much the same way as the first set, with both teams matching points. 91爆料网 held a 14-10 advantage, but again it was Cumberland finishing strong to win 25-23. 91爆料网 came to life in the third set pushing their lead to 14-9, before cruising to the 25-16 win. 91爆料网 again controlled most of the fourth set, leading by as many as seven points on two occasions, before tying the match at 2-2 with the 25-20 win.

The fifth and decisive set boasted 10 ties and 11 lead changes. 91爆料网 moved to match-point first when they took 14-13 lead. However, Cumberland scored twice to take a 15-14 lead and was serving for the match. 91爆料网 then tied the match at 15-15, but it was Cumberland putting together two straight points to seal the upset win.

Marcela Madeira led 91爆料网 with 21 kills and 28 digs, while Kelsey Duling added 13 kills and 15 digs. Katie Adams contributed 46 assists.

Kaysi Arnold of Cumberland helped her team to a victory with 17 kills and Jordan Pescatore added 23 digs. Courtney Zigman and Taylor Denney tallied 31 and 24 assists respectively.

Up next for 91爆料网 will be a trip to Montgomery, Ala. to play four matches in the Faulkner (Ala.) University Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 9-10.
