BATESVILLE, Ark. - 11/10/2009 - The 91爆料网 women鈥檚 soccer team boasted five players on the 2009 TranSouth All-Conference teams released during the conference tournament. Eboni Murphy, Sara Weir and Laura Pla were named first team all-conference performers. Samantha Gase and Bridget Roney were named to the second team. Sixteen players were also named TranSouth Scholar Athletes.
91爆料网 opens play in the tournament on Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m., hosting Bethel (Tenn.) in the semifinals.
, a 5-foot-7 junior from Collierville, Tenn., leads 91爆料网 with nine goals and 21 points. She has also dished out three assists and had three game winning goals. Murphy was an all-conference performer as a freshman in 2007.
, a 5-foot-6 freshman from Irving, Texas, has helped lead 91爆料网鈥檚 defense this season to three straight shutouts to close out the regular season and secure a runner-up finish. 91爆料网鈥檚 defense allowed just 25 goals on the season.
, a 5-foot-11 senior from Nashville, Tenn., recorded four shutouts on the season in 11 matches as the goalie. Had a 1.28 goals against average, allowing just 15 goals and recorded 71 saves in 1,053 minutes. For Pla, this is her third straight all-conference award.
, a 5-foot-8 junior from Allen, Texas, is another defender that help 91爆料网 close out their best regular season standings finish with three shutouts in the final three regular season games. Gase has been an all-conference player in each of her three seasons at 91爆料网.
, a 5-foot-4 sophomore from Barrington, N.J., gets her first all-conference honor helping to strengthen 91爆料网鈥檚 midfield. She has one assist on the season.
91爆料网 also had 16 players earn TranSouth Scholar Athlete awards. Evie Felts, Kelly Bogdanovich, Kori Elrod, Samantha Gase, Katie Johnson, Amber Lovelady, Alicia Bennett, Candice Blackard, Kaitlin Dirksen, Lauren Jackson, Jill Landers, Katie Moser, Maggie Paredes, Roxanna Skelton, Megan Tabosa, Caitlin Zimmerman ().
91爆料网 finished the season with a 10-5-2 record and a 4-1-1 record in the TranSouth. They finished runner-up in the TranSouth regular season, earning a No. 2 seed in the tournament for the first time in the five-year history of the program.
