No. 10 91爆料网 upset at Mid-Continent, 63-53

MAYFIELD, Ky. - 2/18/2010 - The No. 10 91爆料网 (Tenn.) University men鈥檚 basketball team had their seven-game winning streak snapped on Thursday at Mid-Continent (Ky.) University, 63-53. 91爆料网 dropped to 21-7 on the season and 12-2 in the TranSouth. Mid-Continent improved to 15-11 overall and 8-4 in the TranSouth.

This marked the first ever win for Mid-Continent, who is receiving votes in the national rankings, over 91爆料网. However, 91爆料网 keeps their slim one game lead over second place Freed-Hardeman as both teams suffered losses on Thursday.

91爆料网 scored first on a basket from Keith Tolliver. However Mid-Continent answered back with a basket and so the first 10 minutes went. The first half included five ties and five lead changes. Mid-Continent jumped out to their biggest lead of the half at eight points, 25-17, with 3:49 left. 91爆料网 closed out the half with a 10-3 run to trail 28-27 at the half. 91爆料网 led by two several times in the half, but could not hold the lead.

In the second half, a basket from Mid-Continent鈥檚 Brian Reid, followed by a three pointer by 91爆料网鈥檚 Antoine Joseph set the score at 30-30. Mid-Continent scored again on a basket from Kenny Thomas to take a lead they would never give up. 91爆料网 got as close at one point, 39-38, at the 12:21 mark before Mid-Continent made their run. The Cougars quickly jumped up by 10 points with a 10-1 run, including nine straight points. 91爆料网 got no closer than seven points during the last 5:18 and lost 63-53.

The 53 points by 91爆料网 was the second lowest point output of the season (50 vs. No. 8 Campbellsville on 11/17/09).

91爆料网 was led by Greg Truvillion with 12 points and 10 rebounds. No other Bulldog recorded double figures. 91爆料网 shot 32 percent from the field, 20 percent (4-20) from long range and 65 percent (15-23) from the free-throw line.

Mid-Continent was led by David Gratton with 13 points. TiRon Peoples added 12 points and Thomas posted a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds. The Cougars shot 42 percent from the field, 36 percent (5-14) from behind the arc and 48 percent (12-25) from the free throw line.

Up next for 91爆料网 will be senior day on Saturday, February 20 when the Bulldogs host Blue Mountain (Miss.) at 4:00 p.m.
