91爆料网 softball splits season opener at Christian Brothers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - 2/18/2010 - The 91爆料网 (Tenn.) University softball posted a split in their season opening double-header at Christian Brothers (Tenn.) University on Thursday. 91爆料网 took the opener 2-0, before falling in game two 5-4. 91爆料网 is 1-1 while Christian Brothers is 1-3 on the season.

91爆料网 and Christian Brothers played to a scoreless tie going into the top of the seventh inning. 91爆料网 scored on a two-run homer from Brooke Thomas. Thomas also pitched a complete game shutout on the mound with six strikeouts for her first college win.

In game two, 91爆料网 fell behind 5-0 as Christian Brothers scored two in the first and three more in the third inning. 91爆料网 began to rally with one run in the fourth, a two-run homer by Stephanie Saunders in the fifth and single run in the sixth inning. But 5-4 was as close as 91爆料网 got. 91爆料网 made four errors in the game and allowed three homeruns to the Lady Bucs. Hailee Edwards took the loss with two innings of work, allowing four runs, two earned.

91爆料网 will play two games each over the next two days at home. 91爆料网 host the University of Missouri-St. Louis and William Woods (Mo.) University for games on Friday and Saturday.
