JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/20/2010 - The 91±¬ÁÏÍø (Tenn.) University softball team split two games on Saturday. 91±¬ÁÏÍø opened the day with a 6-5 loss to University of Missouri-St. Louis and then rallied for a 6-4 win over William Woods (Mo.) University. 91±¬ÁÏÍø is 4-2 on the season.
The win, 91±¬ÁÏÍø trailed 4-1 going into the bottom of the fifth inning before scoring five runs in the frame. 91±¬ÁÏÍø had hits from six different players. However, Amber Hayes had a two RBI along with a pinch-hit two-RBI single from Ali Bozza to spark the rally. Brook Thomas (3-1) earned the win with seven innings of work, allowing just one earned run and striking out four.
In the loss, 91±¬ÁÏÍø trailed 2-0, then rallied to lead 3-2 going into the fourth inning. Missouri-St. Louis scored three in the fourth and one in the fifth to lead 6-3. 91±¬ÁÏÍø added a late run but could not complete the rally.
