91爆料网 baseball goes to 7-1 with sweep on Saturday

JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/20/2010 - The 91爆料网 baseball team posted a pair of wins on Saturday to push their season record to 7-1. 91爆料网 avenged their only loss of the year with an 11-1 victory over Indiana University-Southeast and then capped off the day with a 6-3 win over Missouri Baptist University.

After dropping their first game on Friday night 1-0 to Indiana-Southeast, 91爆料网 got a quick chance to return the favor. 91爆料网 did so early in the game with five runs in the first inning. The Bulldogs added a pair of runs in the third, one in the fourth and three in the fifth to end the game in five innings. Alex Turner and Josh Jones each had two hits for 91爆料网. Turner and David Maristany led the way with two RBI each. Colin Hatch, a freshman from Huntingdon, Tenn., recorded his first collegiate win with five innings of work, allowing just one run on four hits and striking out five.

In the second game, 91爆料网 went for the weekend sweep over Missouri Baptist after posting a 6-5 win on Thursday and a 7-4 win on Friday. The Bulldogs again struck early with two runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead. 91爆料网 added a run in the third to lead 3-0. Missouri Baptist stormed back with three in the top of the fourth. But 91爆料网 responded with three runs of their own in the bottom half of the frame. The big blow coming on Turner鈥檚 two-run homer. Beau Baker had two hits and two RBI. Kevin Kirksey recorded his first win of the season with five innings of work, allowing three runs on five hits with four strikeouts. Brad Davis recorded his second save of the season with two innings of relief, allowing just one hit and striking out three batters.

Up next for 91爆料网 will be a home double-header on Tuesday, Feb. 23 versus Lane (Tenn.) College.
