91爆料网 baseball 11-1 with double-header sweep over Huntington

JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/26/2010 - The 91爆料网 (Tenn.) University Bulldogs pushed their winning streak to six with a double-header sweep on Friday over Huntington (Ind.) University. 91爆料网 won the first game 6-4 and then took the second game 12-3. 91爆料网 is now 11-1 on the season. Huntington dropped to 1-2 overall.

In the first game 91爆料网 scored with a run in the bottom of the first to lead 1-0. This is a trend for the Bulldogs as they have scored 26 first inning runs in their 12 games to this point. 91爆料网, however, found themselves trailing 3-1 after three unearned runs crossed the plate for Huntington in the third. The Bulldogs responded with five runs in the bottom of the fourth to get the comeback win. Run scoring singles from Kevin Kirksey and Josh Jones followed by a sacrifice fly from Beau Baker helped put 91爆料网 back on top. Carl Harken (2-0) pitched five innings, allowing the three unearned runs on six hits while striking out three batters. Brad Davis earned his third save of the season with two innings of work, allowing one run on three hits.

Game two saw the Bulldogs score again in the first inning, putting up two runs. 91爆料网 led 3-0 until Huntington tied the game with one run in the third and two in the fourth. 91爆料网 starter Jeremy Stack pitched out of a bases loaded, nobody out situation in the fourth to keep the score at 3-3. 91爆料网 responded with five runs in the bottom of the fourth and three more in the fifth to pull away. A final run in the sixth set the score at 12-3. Stack (1-0), the former Madison Academic standout, earned the win with five innings of work, allowing eight hits and three runs while striking out five batters. The Jackson pitching connection continued as former USJ pitchers Jared Davis and Benjie Fesmire pitched the final two innings of scoreless relief. Fesmire struck out the side in his college debut on the mound.

Up next for 91爆料网 will be a single game series finale on Saturday as 91爆料网 hosts Huntington at 12:00 noon.
