Dudley, Campbell head TranSouth honors, four Lady Bulldogs on first team

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - 3/3/2010 - 91爆料网 (Tenn.) University senior guard Kaitlin Dudley has been named the 2010 TranSouth Conference women鈥檚 basketball player of the year. 91爆料网 head coach Mark Campbell was named the coach of the year for the fourth straight season and sixth time overall.

The awards come after 91爆料网鈥檚 fourth straight TranSouth regular season title and third straight season with a prefect conference record. 91爆料网 has also held the NAIA No. 1 ranking for 36 straight polls, spanning each poll over the last three seasons.

Dudley鈥檚 player of the year honor marks the third straight for 91爆料网 and the ninth in the 14-year history of the league.

In addition to Dudley, three other 91爆料网 players were named first team all-conference performers. Sara Chan, Kayla Hudson and Lavanda Ross. All four of these players for 91爆料网 are former members of the TranSouth All-Freshman team during their respective freshman seasons. This marks the first time since 2004 that 91爆料网 has not had a player on the all-freshman team.

, a 5-foot-10 Bradford, Tenn. native and former Gibson County High School standout, earns her first player of the year honor. She has been named to the all-conference team in each of her four years at 91爆料网. Dudley leads 91爆料网 with 16.5 points per game and averages 4.4 rebounds per game. She leads 91爆料网 with 70 made three pointers and is shooting a team high .422 from long range. Earlier this season, she passed the 2,000 point mark for her career and also moved into third place on 91爆料网 all-time scoring list with 2,253 points entering the conference tournament.

, a 6-foot-4 junior from Sudan, earns her first all-conference honor. Chan is second on 91爆料网鈥檚 team with 15.3 points per game and leads the team with 9.2 rebounds per game. She also leads 91爆料网 with 92 made free throws and 183 made field goals.

, a 5-foot-8 junior from Gleason, Tenn., makes the all-conference team for the third time in her career at 91爆料网. She leads the NAIA with a 3.2 assists-to-turnover ratio. She is tops on 91爆料网鈥檚 team with 136 assists and is currently 11 assists shy of the all-time career assists mark at 91爆料网. She is averaged 11.3 points per game and has made 68 three pointers at a 41 percent clip.

, a 5-foot-8 sophomore from Jackson, Tenn., earns her first all-conference honor. She is third on the team with 13.5 points per game. She also averages 4.1 rebounds and has 84 assists on the season, good for second on the team. She leads all NAIA guards with a .584 field goal percentage and is No. 5 in the NAIA overall.

91爆料网 is the No. 1 seed in this week鈥檚 TranSouth Conference Tournament. The Lady Bulldogs will host each game they play as the top season with the first game being played on Wednesday, March 03 at 7:00 p.m. versus Cumberland (Tenn.) University. The semifinals are Friday, March 5 and the finals are Monday, March 8.
