JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/6/2010 - The 91爆料网 (Tenn.) University softball team saw their seven game winning streak come to an end as they dropped two games on Saturday. 91爆料网 lost 8-6 to William Woods (Mo.) University and then fell 6-2 to Columbia (Mo.) College. 91爆料网 is now 10-4 on the season after sweeping the same two teams on Friday.
In the first game, 91爆料网 led 4-1 and 6-3, before giving up five runs in the sixth inning to drop the game. Keaton Kirk (3-1) took the loss allowing seven runs, five earned in 5.2 innings of work. Kirk did have eight strikeouts. 91爆料网 managed 13 hits, but left nine runners on base and committed two costly errors. Amber Hayes hit the game鈥檚 only homer with a three-run shot in the third. Lindsey Landreneau led the way with a 4-for-4 game.
In the second game, 91爆料网 could not recover from another five-spot as Columbia broke open a scoreless game with five runs in the fourth. 91爆料网 added a run in the fourth and another in the seven, but it wasn鈥檛 enough in the 6-2 loss. Brooke Thomas (8-2) allowed 10 hits, but just one of the six runs was earned in the complete game loss. Thomas led with two of 91爆料网鈥檚 five hits.
Up next for 91爆料网 will be another tournament hosted by 91爆料网 on Friday and Saturday, March 12-13.
