91爆料网 sets record in 86-47 opening round win, Hudson breaks 91爆料网 assist mark

JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/17/2010 - 91爆料网 (Tenn.) University rolled into the second round of the 2010 NAIA Division I National Championship with an 86-47 win over Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) University. The Lady Bulldogs set a new NAIA tournament record with 15 3-point field goals in the win. 91爆料网 also dominated the glass, doubling up SAGU 48-22 in total rebounds.

Kayla Hudson dished out six assists to give her 614 for her career and break 91爆料网鈥檚 all-time assist record of 611 held by Lisa Hutchens.

Jessica Graves knocked down 91爆料网鈥檚 first 3-pointer just 10 seconds into the game as the Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a quick lead. 91爆料网 steadily built its lead over the course of the first half, earning a 10 point lead with 13:18 left in the period. A Kaitlin Dudley 3-point basket at the 4:55 mark in the first half pushed the lead to 21 points, 38-17. SAGU was able to narrow the gap slightly before halftime cutting the lead to 19 points, 42-23 at intermission.

The Lady Bulldogs knocked down 7-of-15 threes in the first half, shooting 0.467 from behind the arc and 16-of-30 (0.533) overall. 91爆料网 didn鈥檛 let up in the second half, increasing its lead to 30 points at the 8:53 mark on a basket by Lavonda Ross. The Lady Bulldogs cruised down the stretch to earn a 39-point victory, 86-47.

Kaitlin Dudley scored 18 points and is now nine points away from moving in to second-place all-time on the Lady Bulldogs scoring list. Dudley and Zeinab Chan led the Lady Bulldogs with 18 points each on the night. 91爆料网 set up 25 of its 33 field goals off of assists.

Chelsea Jones led SAGU in scoring with 20 points. Stephanie Hawkins was the only other Lion in double-figures with 10 points.

Montana-Western held the previous record for 3-point field goals in a game with 14 against Houston Baptist (Texas) in 2004.

91爆料网 (32-2) advaces to face Southern Poly Tech State (Ga.) at 6:15 p.m. on Friday in the second round. Southwestern Assemblies of God ends its season at 25-8.
