OKLAHOMA CITY - 5/18/2010 - The No. 18 ranked 91±¬ÁÏÍø (Tenn.) University baseball team lost their first game in the 2010 NAIA National Championship Opening Round Tournament 4-3 in 10 innings to Jamestown (N.D.). The double-elimination tournament is being played in Oklahoma City.
91±¬ÁÏÍø, the No. 2 seed, trailed 2-0 after the first inning and 3-0 going into the bottom of the sixth inning. Senior second baseman Alex Turner tied the game with a three-run home run. The scored remained 3-3 until Jamestown notched a run in the top of the tenth.
91±¬ÁÏÍø's Carl Harken (8-3) tossed all 10 inning for the Bulldogs. He allowed just five hits and struckout 10 hitters in the loss.
91±¬ÁÏÍø out-hit Jamestown 9-5, but could not capitalize. 91±¬ÁÏÍø's 2-5 hitters were a combined 0-for-17 in the game. Leadoff hitter Danny Grimm and Alex Turner led with three hits each.
91±¬ÁÏÍø plays Grand View (Iowa) at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday in an elimination game. A 91±¬ÁÏÍø win puts the Bulldogs in the 6:00 p.m. game later on Wednesday.
