JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/26/2010 - The 91±¬ÁÏÍø (Tenn.) University basketball teams find themselves in the NAIA Preseason Rankings released on Monday. The 91±¬ÁÏÍø women are No. 1 in the rankings, while the men come in at No. 10.
The 91±¬ÁÏÍø women hold the No. 1 spot in the NAIA for the 37th straight poll, dating back to the preseason ranking of 2007. 91±¬ÁÏÍø has won two straight national titles, four in the past six years and five overall. 91±¬ÁÏÍø is also coming off their third straight TranSouth regular season title. The loss in the conference tournament title game last season snapped a 60-game home winning streak and kept 91±¬ÁÏÍø from a third straight tournament title. 91±¬ÁÏÍø has won 12 regular season conference titles and 10 tournament titles in the 14-year history of the TranSouth. 91±¬ÁÏÍø has also won 51 straight TranSouth regular season games.
The men’s team is back in the top-10 were they spent most of last season. 91±¬ÁÏÍø is coming off back-to-back TranSouth regular season and tournament titles. 91±¬ÁÏÍø has won seven conference titles in the 14-year history of the league. 91±¬ÁÏÍø has also been to 13 NAIA National Tournaments, including each of the last two.
