Henson, Bryant on NAIA All-American Teams

Jackson, Tenn. - 3/26/2003 - 91爆料网 Basketball juniors and have been named to the NAIA All-American teams. Jessica Henson earned first team All-American honors for the third time in her career at 91爆料网. Ginger Bryant earns her first All-American honor with an honorable mention selection.

Henson, a 5-11 junior guard from Bradford, led the Lady Bulldogs in scoring this season with 17.3 points per game. She also averaged 5.5 rebounds, 3.2 steals, and 3.1 assists per game. In addition to the first team All-American selection, Henson was named to the All-Tournament Second Team in the NAIA National Tournament. Over the past few weeks, Henson has accumulated several post season honors including being named the Women鈥檚 Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA)-NAIA Player of the Year, WBCA Kodak All-American, and a first team all TranSouth Conference performer. Back before Christmas, Henson scored her 1,000 career point and now has 1,554 points for her career. She needs just 446 points in her senior season to reach the 2,000 point mark. In each of her three seasons at 91爆料网, she has improved her point production in a season as she scored 420 points as a freshman, 530 as a sophomore, and 604 as a junior.

Bryant, a 6-2 junior forward from Jackson, was second on the team in scoring with 13.5 points per game and she led 91爆料网 with 7.9 rebounds per game. She shot 50% from the field (214-426) and blocked 54 shots during the year. Bryant was also named second team All-TranSouth this season. Earlier this season, Bryant scored her 1,000 career point in only her third season as a Lady Bulldog. She currently has 1,119 points and 672 rebounds in her career.
