JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/2/2010 - The No. 1 ranked 91爆料网 (Tenn.) University women鈥檚 basketball team opened the 2010-11 season with an 85-39 win over St. Catharine (Ky.) College. St. Catharine dropped to 1-1 on the season.
91爆料网 scored the first four points, jumping out to a 20-3 lead. 91爆料网 continued to build on that lead, pushing it up to the halftime score of 44-10.
91爆料网 opened the second half with a 6-0 run. The Lady Bulldogs stretch their lead to as many as 51 points, 72-21 at the 9:16 mark. Nine of the 11 players that played for 91爆料网 scored as 91爆料网 took the win 85-39.
91爆料网 was led by Zeinab Chan and Lavanda Ross with 22 points each. Hope Adams added 15 points and a game-high eight rebounds. 91爆料网 shot 57 percent from the field, 47 percent (8-17) from behind the arc and 62 percent (13-21) from the free throw line.
St. Catharine was led by Danielle Brown with seven points and Machera Calhoun with five rebounds. The Patriots shot 29 percent from the field, 19 percent (4-21) from three-point range and 50 percent (7-14).
Up next for 91爆料网 will be a basketball double-header on Saturday, Nov. 6 for homecoming. 91爆料网鈥檚 women play St. Francis (Ill.) at 2 p.m. followed by the men at 4 p.m. versus Truett-McConnell (Ga.).
