Jackson, Tenn. - 3/29/2003 - , 91爆料网鈥檚 catcher and a Jackson native, set a new 91爆料网 record for doubles in a career. Cook currently stands at 70 career doubles and 19 doubles on the season. With his two doubles during the Trevecca Nazarene series, Cook broke the record formerly held by fellow Jackson native Jeff Wyatt. Wyatt held the record for one season after graduating last season from 91爆料网 with 68 career doubles. Cook鈥檚 19 doubles this season are just seven behind Wyatt鈥檚 record of 26 doubles in a season.
Cook played his high school baseball at the University School of Jackson in which he won a state championship. While at 91爆料网, Cook has caught and played first base for two conference championship teams and looks to make it three by season鈥檚 end. On the year, Cook leads the Bulldogs with his 45 hits, 19 doubles, six homeruns, and 29 RBI. His .405 batting average is good for second place on this highly potent 91爆料网 offense. Behind the plate, Cook has thrown out 3-of-14 would-be-base stealers. In his overall defense behind the plate and at first base, he is perfect with 107 putouts, 15 assists, and no errors.
