No. 10 91爆料网 avenges earlier loss with 86-74 win over William Carey

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/29/2010 - The No. 10 91爆料网 (Tenn.) University posted an 86-74 win over William Carey (Miss.) University. The win evens the season series with William Carey who won on their home floor 85-75 nine days ago. 91爆料网 improved to 6-3 with their third straight win, while William Carey dropped to 4-3 on the season.

William Carey鈥檚 Drew Meyerchick opened the game with one of his three 3-pointers on the night to give his Crusader team a quick 3-0 lead. 91爆料网 answered back with a 5-0 run capped by a three pointer from Antoine Hall. Hall sank six three pointers on the night, including five in the first half as he posted a game-high 24 points.

Over the first 10 minutes of the game, both teams played within a shot of each other, producing five ties and seven lead changes.

At the 10:29 mark of the first half, the game was tied 20-20. 91爆料网 then posted a 15-2 run over the next four minutes to lead 35-22. That was their biggest lead of the half, before settling for the 44-34 lead at the break.

In the first half, 91爆料网 shot 53 percent from the field and 54 percent (7-13) from behind the ark to help build the first half lead.

In the second half, 91爆料网 quickly went back up by 13 points on a three pointer from Stan McNeil. However, William Carey rallied back to cut the lead down to seven points twice over the next four minutes. 91爆料网 extended their lead back up to 14 points twice with the latest coming at the 14:47 mark, 58-44. William Carey again rallied, this time cutting 91爆料网鈥檚 lead down to just four points, 70-66, with 7:09 left in the game. However, 91爆料网 was able to stop the Crusader rally with a 9-1 run sparked by a three pointer from CJ Davis, who finished with 21 points. 91爆料网 led by as many as 16 points (85-69) down the stretch, before taking the win 86-74.

91爆料网 was led by Hall with 24 points and Davis with 21 points. Skyler Vaden added 12 points while Shane Burrell was one point shy of a third straight double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds. 91爆料网 shot 48 percent from the field, 44 percent (12-27) from long range and 76 percent (22-29) from the free-throw line.

William Carey was led by Meyerchick with 15 points, Julius Banks with 11 and Donzedrick Smith with 10 points. The Crusaders shot 48 percent from the field, 25 percent (5-20) from behind the arc and 64 percent (7-11) from the free throw line.

Up next for 91爆料网 will be another attempt to avenge an earlier loss as the Bulldogs travel to No. 21 Life (Ga.) on Friday, Dec. 3.
