Top ranked Lady Bulldogs stay perfect with another top-10 win

Bourbonnais, Ill. - 12/3/2010 - The No. 1 91爆料网 (Tenn.) University women鈥檚 basketball team posted a 71-63 win over No. 6 St. Xavier (Ill.) University in the Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) Classic. 91爆料网 stayed perfect, going 9-0 on the season, while also moving to 5-0 over NAIA top-10 teams. St. Xavier dropped to 6-2 overall.

91爆料网 led 9-3 early in the game, but could not hold the lead on the neutral court. St. Xavier pulled ahead and was able to lead 91爆料网 by six at the half, 38-32.

This was the second straight game for 91爆料网 to trail on the road at the half against a top-10 team. 91爆料网 trailed by five at No. 7 Lee (Tenn.) on Monday before rallying in the second half for the win.

91爆料网 did the same again on this night. The Lady Bulldogs rallied from six down to eventually lead by as many as 11 points in the second half. After the big 91爆料网 run, St. Xavier did not go away as they rallied to cut the 91爆料网 lead down to two points late. But it was 91爆料网 sinking free throws down the stretch to win by nine, 71-63.

91爆料网 was led by Sarah Chan with 26 points and 18 rebounds. Lavanda Ross scored 21 points. 91爆料网 shot 44 percent from the field, 33 percent (4-12) from behind the arc and 68 percent (13-19) from the free throw line.

St. Xavier was led by Michel Tourtillott with 20 points. Shalonda Young added 15 points, while Alex Brown and Marissa Young scored 11 each. St. Xavier shot 35 percent from the field, 32 percent (6-19) from behind the arc and 61 percent (11-18) from the free throw line.

Up next for 91爆料网 will be a game on Saturday at Olivet Nazarene, who is receiving votes in the NAIA preseason rankings.
