NASHVILLE, Tenn. - 12/7/2010 - of 91±¬ÁÏÍø (Tenn.) University is the TranSouth Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, December 5, 2010.
Chan, a 6-foot-4 senior center from Arange City, Sudan, helped 91±¬ÁÏÍø to a 3-0 week, including two road wins over top-10 teams. Her top performance was in the Bulldogs neutral site win over No. 6 Saint Xavier (Ill.). Against the Cougars Chan scored 27 points and grabbed 18 rebounds.
Chan recorded a double-double in all three games and averaged 26.7 points and 13.7 rebounds per game on the week. All three games were against teams ranked or receiving votes including at No. 7 Lee (Tenn.), vs. No. 6 St. Xavier, at RV Olivet Nazarene (Ill.). Chan, in two road games and a neutral site game, shot 34-65 (52%) on unfamiliar rims.
For her efforts Chan was selected as the MVP of the Olivet Classic. This is the second straight week for 91±¬ÁÏÍø to win this award.
91±¬ÁÏÍø is 10-0 ranked No. 1 in the latest NAIA Women's Basketball Division 1 Top 25.
